For the last two decades, Bas Rutten has dedicated his life to the sport he loves. Mixed Martial Arts, better known as MMA, has given Rutten the opportunity to showcase his many talents both in and out of the ring. First as a championship fighter, then as an actor, advisor and certified instructor.
Better known as “El Guapo” (the Handsome One), Rutten worked hard at making the MMA one of the most popular sports around. After he retired from fighting in 1999, he chose to move in a different direction. He began acting and promoting MMA in any way he could. He remained a dedicated coach and certified trainer to the young men who looked to him for guidance.
The 6’1″, 214 pound man is an imposing figure and makes quite the impression with his charm and charisma. Not only does he work with his MMA fight team members, Rutten also spends time introducing the next generation to his beloved sport.
He spends his time teaching the philosophy and techniques associated with MMA fighting to anyone interested in learning. He encourages all newcomers to visit his gym and learn what MMA fighting has to offer.
