There’s a reason that working out with a trainer is so effective. No matter how motivated we are when we first hit the mat, it can be next to impossible to drive ourselves to the limit when we’re on our own. We need the objective eye and inspirational words of someone we trust to challenge us to go deeper and strive towards excellence. A great trainer can help us perfect our form, encourage us to lift a higher weight than we’re comfortable with, and demand that we complete that last rep. But what do you do when you’re working out solo? Ultimately, we have to learn how to find that drive within us, even if there’s no one else around.
A workout buddy at the gym can often serve the same purpose. Sometimes a little healthy competition with a good friend when working out can really inspire us to go to the next level. This is one reason that public gyms are so popular in the first place. Having all of those other athletic people around working so hard to get stronger, faster, and more flexible is an excellent motivator to try your hardest. Everybody wants to look cool, right? Well let me tell you, there is nothing cooler than an athlete who gives every single workout 100 percent effort, 100 percent intensity, and 100 percent challenge, no matter who’s watching or who’s coaching.
The ability to fire up your muscles and deliver peak performance with nothing other than your willpower to motivate you is one of the most valuable qualities in any athlete. This applies from novices to Olympians to pros and everybody in between.
So how do you get there? The answer is simple. Every single time you lift a weight, every time you perform a crunch, every time you hoist your body up to that chin-up bar, remember why you’re doing it. Are you trying to lose weight? Do you want to get ripped? Do you just want to feel great in your own skin? Or do you simply want to go further than you’ve ever gone before? There’s no wrong answer to this question – if you’re like most athletes, it can be all of the above. The important thing is to challenge your mind to stay present and focused upon what you’re doing and why.
Then, it’s going to be up to you and you alone to find your engine. Challenge yourself in every way you can. Set goals that you would be blown away to achieve… and then achieve them. One incredible way to challenge your body is with the O2 Trainer. Simply adding the O2 trainer to your routine will condition you to boost endurance and stamina, improve the volume of air you can ventilate, and improve your muscle power – all the elements it takes to go the extra mile when you’re exercising.
Look, there are no shortcuts to optimum fitness. But if you’ve got the right tools and the will to succeed, you’ll get there. There’s no place for a timid attitude in the gym. Grab your O2 Trainer and attack every workout like you want it to be the best workout of your life. You’ll be amazed by what you can accomplish with that attitude, whether or not you’ve got a professional trainer, a workout buddy, or are simply challenging yourself to be your best.
